Do’s and don’ts for an hourglass-shaped body

Wednesday 23rd May, 2018

Do you have an hourglass-shaped body? Lucky you! You’ve got the curves to die for with a full bust, tiny waist and firm but/hips. The hourglass is considered a great asset. Still some women struggle in finding the right clothing. With an hourglass-shaped body it’s a challenge to accentuate that tiny waist and curves.

The ideal conception of beauty has changed over the years. The hourglass was however very popular in the era of Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren and Jayne Mansfield. These inspiring women all had an hourglass-shaped body and they nailed it in their outfits. Just like the more recent stars like Scarlett Johansson. So be inspired by their way of putting together an outfit and forget all about the skinny models you see in the magazines.

With this body the main thing you have to keep in mind is: accentuate that tiny waist. You can do this by wearing a fitted top in combination with a skinny jeans or legging. As an hourglass you can also opt for a straight leg jeans. A very chique effect is created by a fitted trouser on an hourglass-shaped body. It is very important though how it fits. The waistband needs to hit the waistline correctly and the trousers need to be slightly tapered from the knees down. This style makes you look your best!
Tip: wear a slightly too long trouser that covers your heels just a bit for maximal length.
